My name is Chris Barber, and I am the owner and general manager of The Landings Golf Course in Kingston. We are members of the NGCOA. I am writing to introduce you and to Mr. Bill Godkin, the owner of a Kingston based company called CEsafety.
As you know, over the past few years, the Ministry of Labour has been targeting golf courses and golf operations throughout our area, in an effort to make sure that we, as owners, are providing a safe and hazard-free environment for workers. In the Kingston area alone, I know of many operations that have been visited.
Mr. Godkin approached me a year ago, and proposed to do an audit of our facility, and our safety procedures. Upon completion of the audit, we were provided with a checklist of things that needed immediate attention, and those that would be required to be remedied in the near future. As well, Bill came in this spring to provide a safety seminar to all of our staff. And as well, it came at a price that was very affordable to a small course like ours.
